LiveAquaria® Live Nitrifying Bacteria is an additive that removes toxic ammonia and nitrates from water and helps create a natural biological filter in new aquariums. It conditions aquarium water with nitrifying bacteria to reduce fish loss associated with New Tank Syndrome.
As part of an on-going aquarium schedule, LiveAquaria® Live Nitrifying Bacteria can also be used in established aquariums to maintain ideal water parameters for aquatic stock after water changes, aggressive cleaning, or other times whole water replacement is necessary.
Directions and Dosage:
Shake well before using. Be sure water is free of chlorine and chloramines before adding LiveAquaria® Live Nitrifying Bacteria.
Use 1 teaspoon (5 ml) per 10 gallons of water on the first day and again seven days later. Remove filter socks and turn off protein skimmer, UV sterilizers and ozonizers for 48 hours after adding product for best results. Product cannot be overdosed.
LiveAquaria® Live Nitrifying Bacteria should be used in the following situations:- During new aquarium set-up
- If ammonia or nitrates are present in new tanks
- After treatment of diseases
- When adding new fish to an aquarium
- After cleaning the filter bed
